Chief Lending Officer

The Chief Lending Officer (CLO) is a strategic, executive leadership role responsible for driving balanced loan growth and market share, in alignment with the strategic priorities of the bank. Innovating into the future, through strong collaboration and partnerships, is a key driver of success. The CLO is responsible for the lending lifecycle from origination through servicing, including establishing goals and metrics. The role is responsible for developing the lending vision and executing the strategy from current state to future state with inspirational leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of lending strategies and policies.
  • Originate and service individual loan portfolio.
  • Management and development of loan officers, including monitoring and assistance with loan production.
  • Monitor and evaluate Loan Department personnel.
  • Monitor and manage the Loan Collection Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies and banking regulations.
  • Develop training as necessary to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the IT Manager in the development, implementation, and testing of lending software.
  • Participate in Management Committees as assigned by the President.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university or college is preferred or equivalent combination of experience and training. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending, real estate lending, commercial lending, and collection activities.
  • Must have working knowledge of regulations affecting all areas of lending.
  • The ability to communicate, both written and oral at an effective level, is required.
  • Basic understanding and use of computer software, such as Excel, Word and E-mail is a prerequisite.
