Job Description:

Open Door Health Services (ODHS) is seeking a full-time Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who will be responsible for guiding the delivery of clinical services in alignment with the organization's mission to improve quality of life, vision to be a preferred community health partner, and the organizations' core values. The CMO provides strategic and clinical leadership, overseeing all providers and clinical staff, championing quality improvement, and ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and standards of care. The CMO is the lead for the organization's Clinical Quality efforts and will commit at an estimated 8 hours per week to direct patient care.

Education & Experience:

* Medical Degree from an accredited institution.

* 5 years of administrative experience in healthcare is preferred, with a preference for community health.

* Certifications/Licenses: Indiana Medical License without restrictions (or eligible), Federal DEA, Indiana CSR, board certification or eligibility required. Unlimited privileges at IU Health/Ball Memorial or other local hospitals is preferred.

We provide comprehensive primary, urgent, and preventive healthcare services, as well as select specialty services and social support programs. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health providers, and staff offer friendly, expert care for individuals and families throughout East Central Indiana--with or without insurance. Ability to pay is not a barrier to care. Services are offered at multiple locations in Muncie and Anderson.

* Recommend clinical pathways and participate in the designation of priority objectives for the clinic with reference to implementation of the clinical health care plan.

* Reviews patient medical records for accuracy and appropriateness of care in order to complete clinical performance evaluation using peer review system as mechanism for these reviews.

* Leadership in the area of continuous quality improvement initiatives and in the medical areas of grant requirements.

* Present reports on clinical care matters to CEO, the Board of Directors and the Board's Quality Assurance Committee regularly and periodically.

* Direct supervision and provide consultation of all medical providers, residents, and students including peer review and annual evaluations, in-service training, and orientation of medical staff. Responsible for the quality performance of physicians and other clinical staff under your supervision.

* Collaborate with the VP of Operations and the Clinical Leadership Team in the periodic review of practice management functions, e.g., reception, telephone triage, patient flow, outreach services, laboratory, pharmacy, follow-up on missed appointments, referral tracking.

* Ability to lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds, such as equipment and boxes of office supplies.

* Requires the ability to work in stressful situations.

* Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment.

* Typical office environment with moderate noise levels.

* Exposure to natural and artificial lighting.

* Ability to work in a space that may require occasional adjustments to accommodate different workstations or meeting rooms.

* Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substance, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environment. Tasks involve contact with blood or body substances.
