About us Auburn Community Hospital (ACH) is a not-for-profit, 99-bed acute care facility located in Auburn, New York. As the sole provider of acute and general hospital services in Cayuga County and the surrounding areas, we serve a population of approximately 80,000 throughout the Finger Lakes region. More than 95% of the physicians on staff are board certified in at least one specialty. MISSION Our mission is to provide compassionate, quality care and improve the health of our community. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Nursing Officer to join Auburn Community Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration and leadership. The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for oversight and integration of the nursing care delivery system for all nursing care services of Auburn Community Hospital. They establish, approve, and implement nursing standards of care and nursing standards of practice. Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Oversee all nursing operations within the organization.
  • Develop, implement and oversee nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Provide strategic leadership to nursing staff and promote a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage nursing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to nursing practices.
  • Recommend and implement change, as necessary, to ensure conformity to hospital policies and regulatory agencies (TJC, DOH, JCAHO, etc).
  • Establishes effective nursing leadership on each unit through selection, delegation, monitoring, and evaluation of Nurse Managers.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing evaluation and selection of technology and information systems that support patient care needs and the utilization of nursing resources.
Experience
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business Administration required
  • Active NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Proven experience in nursing management or leadership roles required; experience as a Chief Nursing Officer or Vice President of Nursing preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of nurses
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices in nursing administration
Job Type: Full-time; Exempt Pay: $190,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
