The Quaker Valley School District, in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief of Police and Director of Safety and Security to lead and ensure the safety of our vibrant school community. This critical role involves serving as a uniformed school police officer in our high school, overseeing the District's comprehensive safety programs, supervising our police force of four officers (including the Chief), building strong relationships with students, staff, and the community, and providing proactive leadership in all areas of safety and emergency preparedness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement, with a proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor effective safety policies and practices tailored to a school setting. The role of Chief of Police and Director of Safety and Security is a 190-day position. The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Act 120 training as required under 53 Pa.C.S. Ch.21 Subch. D (relating to municipal police officer education and training) or have graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Police Officer preferably with a community-oriented policing background or as a School Police Officer
- Must have completed a PCCD approved Act 67 School Security Personnel Basic Training course
- Clearances including PA State Criminal, PA Child Abuse History and FBI clearances
- Bachelor's degree preferred
