Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person (5 days a week)

Overview: Anthony G. Ferry Inc., a leading electrical contracting firm based in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a dynamic and ambitious professional to join our team as Chief of Staff. This role is perfect for a seasoned Controller or Bookkeeping Manager with 3-7 years of experience who is eager to expand into a multifaceted position that encompasses financial operations, project management, and vendor relationships. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset with aspirations to eventually advance into a Chief Operating Officer (COO) role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage all insurance operations related to projects and company assets.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial statements and maintain robust internal controls.

2. Project Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee the financial aspects of ongoing construction projects, ensuring they are on budget and on time.
  • Work closely with project managers to monitor project progress and address any financial issues that arise.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project estimates, leveraging tools like Procore and QuickBooks.

3. Vendor and Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.

4. Leadership and Strategy:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Play a key role in strategic planning and execution of business growth initiatives.
  • Mentor and lead junior staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Project finance experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with project estimating, Procore, or QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a desire to grow into a COO role.
