Role Summary: The Deputy Chief of Staff (CoS) for Operations will support CPC's CEO with managing external relationships and partnerships. This position will help the CEO to develop and execute on a consistent travel agenda, supporting him as he works to build CPC's brand and increase exposure, generate opportunities for the organization, and serve as a national brand ambassador. The Deputy CoS will liaise extensively with CPC's senior management team, coordinating their work and ensuring alignment with the CEO's agenda. This position will also be responsible for administrative support, including proactive CEO calendar management, event planning inside and outside of CPC, expense report processing, and development and dissemination of meeting materials. This is an excellent role for an early career professional looking to learn about affordable housing and build a career in the sector. This position will develop and prepare the individual to advance within CPC or/and the affordable housing sector. What You'll do: Partner with CEO, CoS, and CPC leadership to identify, plan, and organize national travel and learning opportunities for the CEO. Work with leadership to align the CEO's travel schedule with organizational priorities and goals. Plan the CEO's calendar 6-12 months in advance, working with internal and external partners to develop thoughtful itineraries. Prepare agendas and briefings, ensuring that the CEO and his external counterparts are ready to engage in productive discussions. Arrange travel for the CEO, including lodging, transportation, and other necessities. Serve as personal aide to the CEO, traveling with him and managing all logistics. Must be able to travel 30-40%, and regularly attend evening events. Manage expense report processing on behalf of the CEO. Proactively manage the CEO's calendar and briefing materials. Work collaboratively with senior management. Support leadership-level meetings by establishing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking follow up items. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials for executive leadership, with support from the CoS. Support the core functions of the Office of the CEO, and lead special projects as assigned by the CoS. Skills and Experience Strong interest in community development and the affordable housing market. Undergraduate degree in public administration, management or related field. Comparable work experience will be considered. 3-5 years professional experience handling complex scheduling, operations and/or meeting logistics, preferably for senior leadership. Experience with event planning a plus. Unparalleled attention to detail and organization skills. A knack for troubleshooting and forward thinking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and build relationships with key leaders A learning orientation. The salary range is $95,000 – $115,000, dependent on experience.
