Packard's COO is responsible for planning, developing, evaluating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of Packard Health. The COO will ensure that the infrastructure, processes, and systems necessary to drive sustainable service, achieve growth and financial success are solidly in place and effectively deployed.

Essential Functions

  • Responsibility for Packard Health day-to-day operations.
  • Manage multiple physician practice locations with comprehensive understanding of business and clinical operations in a physician practice setting. Ensure excellent customer service, efficient patient flow, effective scheduling and revenue capture, and adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee 340B pharmacy operations ensuring excellent patient care, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and mentor site leaders and business line leaders so they have the tools and resources needed to provide outstanding care in a sustainable fiscally responsible fashion.
  • As a partner with the CMO, CQO, and Director of Behavioral Health, help ensure that the clinical operations are of outstanding quality and productivity.
  • As a partner with the CFO, ensure that the organization's budgets and management reporting processes are built and managed to support the organization's growth and financial success.
  • Work with Human Resources to help articulate and build an engaged workforce to meet organizational needs.
  • Effectively establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with the provider staff to achieve increased provider satisfaction and productivity.
  • Working with the CQO, maintain a framework for continuously monitoring and improving the quality of care and services provided to patients. Integrate the measurement of clinical quality and service standards with those of strategic planning and operations management.
  • Ensure that all Packard Health infrastructure is maintained in a safe, efficient operating condition.
  • Act in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Packard Health.
  • Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in healthcare administration, public health, or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience in a health care setting, preferably a senior management role in a physician practice or FQHC.
  • Experience in financial analysis, operations, and program implementation.
  • Experience mentoring mid-level and front-line managers.
  • Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of FQHC operations and regulations.
    • Knowledge of 340 pharmacy operations and regulations.
    • Knowledge of human resources practices including supervision and staff development.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Knowledge of and experience with EHRs, practice management systems, and other healthcare software.
    • Ability to organize work and coordinate multiple activities to achieve goals and objectives.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to lead front line staff in process improvement and service excellence; knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
    • Ability to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery.
    • Demonstrated skills in process improvement, business analysis, and/or financial management with commitment to continuously improve practice workflows/operations.
