POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Armstrong & Sinoff Financial, you will oversee all operational aspects of our firm, ensuring efficiency, excellence in client service, and strategic growth. This role requires strong leadership, extensive industry experience, and a commitment to maintaining a client-centric approach to operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Firm Administration and Team Leadership

Provide oversight and leadership to all internal teams, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to firm policies

Lead and supervise a team of professionals, conducting regular one-on-one and team-wide meetings to foster collaboration and communication

Manage the interview and hiring process for new team members, ensuring alignment with firm culture and values

Implement performance management processes, including annual reviews and recommendations for salary increases and promotions

Manage all new team member onboarding, including new team members (or delegates training) in all aspects of assigned responsibilities

Facilitate all new-hire onboarding initiatives related to HR, benefits enrollment, payroll set-up, etc.

Ability to serve in a temporary backfill capacity for any/all team functions during periods of extended leave or turnover across the team

Operations Management

Global oversight of all administrative functions of the firm, including insurance operations, investment operations, financial planning, marketing and general administrative support functions

Manage relationships with external vendors and technology providers

Oversee and maintain accurate bookkeeping/P&L records, providing necessary records to external accounting partners, as needed

Manage and maintain up-to-date master firm-wide calendar, including firm events, partner travel schedules, team PTO schedules, etc.

Global System and Process Oversight

Continuously assess and optimize team workflows to enhance operational efficiency and compliance

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement technology solutions to streamline processes

Ensure adherence to compliance regulations and internal procedures

Client Service Oversight

Enhance day-to-day operational activities to support advisors in delivering exceptional client experiences

Foster a concierge-like client service approach across the firm

Manage client onboarding processes and workflow to ensure seamless service delivery

Strategic Planning Support

Participates in the strategic planning, infrastructure and operations management of the firm, with a keen understanding of the financial health and growth of the team

Able to understand strategic connection between the Firm Partners' vision and what needs to be done to support and achieve the vision

Responsible for executing and implementing the team Business Continuity Plan

Collaborate with firm partners on strategic planning and infrastructure management

Drive change management initiatives to achieve operational efficiencies and support long-term growth objectives

Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and manage firm success

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Extensive wealth management industry operations/support experience
  • 10+ years of supervision, leadership, HR, or other relevant people management experience, ideally in financial services or a related industry
  • Series 7, 6, 63, and/or Life & Health licenses

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or other relevant graduated degree highly preferred
  • Relevant industry credentials (e.g., CFP, CHFC, CRPC, RICP)
  • Prior Northwestern Mutual operations and/or team management experience
  • Experience with NetX360, Envestnet, Morningstar, or Microsoft CRM systems is a plus
