Our client is seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee large-scale water infrastructure projects, drive operational efficiency, and manage strategic partnerships.

This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with strong experience in construction management or water projects, who thrives in fast-paced environments and excels at handling complex operational and financial challenges. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and funding, ensuring alignment with financial goals and compliance.
  • Lead high-level contract negotiations and partnerships, securing optimal business outcomes.
  • Oversee project progress, timelines, and quality, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Identify potential risks and develop effective strategies to mitigate financial, operational, or regulatory issues.
  • Build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, customers, and strategic partners.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to legal and regulatory requirements while managing contracts and documentation.
  • Lead change initiatives and course corrections to keep projects on track and within scope

Experience and Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Law, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years in a senior operations or project management role, ideally in infrastructure or capital project environments.
  • Prior experience in water infrastructure projects or construction management is required.
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Proven track record in high-stakes contract negotiations.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to quickly address project delays, risks, and unforeseen challenges.
  • Location: Austin, Texas

    Compensation: $190K - $240K (plus benefits and performance-based bonus)
