DescriptionCPC is seeking candidates for our Chief Operations Officer position in York, PA. SUMMARY: The Chief Operations Officer (COO) oversees the day-to-day operations of facilities, technology, safety, emergency response, vendor relations and administration. This position also plays an integral strategic and leadership role in ensuring Community Progress Council has the best operational practices, processes, vendors, systems and culture. Other duties may be assigned.Be committed to the vision, mission, and value statements of Community Progress Council.Ensure smooth daily operation of facilities, IT, safety, emergency response, vendor relations and applicable administration.Develop, implement and manage operational policies and procedures.Find solutions to complex operational challenges and communicate effectively to the President and CEO, Board of Directors/Associated Committees, Leadership and Staff.Create, track and meet operational strategic goals.Propose solutions for continuous improvement opportunities.Ensure all legal, regulatory and compliance documents are filed, reported, audited and handled in accordance with all laws, regulations and requirements for the organization.Responsible for department budgets and fiscal responsibilities of assigned areas.Work with the President and CEO in the planning, formulation and execution of short and long-range goals of the organization.Provide timely, accurate and complete updates of operational performance to the President and CEO, Board of Directors and Leadership.Ensure all Community Progress Council programs and departments are supported by operational excellence with an eye towards collaborative agency goals and growth objectives.Oversee, direct and manage all vendor related performance and applicable agreements/contracts/leases/MOUs.Oversee agency facilities and equipment and ensure all are maintained in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, compliance and safety.Evaluate and justify operating expenses and capital improvements.Ensure the safety of all personnel, visitors, partners and vendors by developing, maintaining and testing safety, emergency response and disaster recovery efforts.Under minimal supervision, take initiative and provide sound independent judgement for operational activities.Assist with other duties as requested by the President and CEO.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Chief Operations Officer supervises the operations staff and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and orienting/training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints (orally and in writing), and resolving problems.Supervisors must demonstrate competent supervision of staff through:Effective communication with employees, both orally and in writing.Development of positive relationships with employees from diverse backgrounds and ability to demonstrate effective interaction with employees, whether individually or in groups.Prompt problem recognition and prompt, constructive, and effective problem-solving.Thorough and fair evaluation of the employee's job performance with appropriate follow-through, whether reward for exceptional performance, or remediation/discipline for substandard performance.Consistent role-modeling of desirable employee attitudes, traits, and skills, and consistent role modeling of CPC's Core Values.Highly customer service focused to internal and external clients and be able to work with diverse individuals.Effective organization and attention to detail.Ability to be dependable, flexible and professional, and cooperate in a team environment.Ability to take personal responsibility for yourself and your team.Ability to demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills.Exhibits collaborative team-based approach.EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Economics, Finance or similar/related degree.7+ years or equivalent experience of full-time (on-site) progressively complex related work experience directly involved with operations, business, technology or related areas.7+ years supervisory experience, talent acquisition and staff development preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills and collaborative capabilities.Experience with opening new locations, consolidating and/or closing existing locations.Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development.Proven leadership with a team of diverse individuals.Ability to work onsite, multi-task, develop and make presentations, be flexible, and drive solutions with clarity and resourcefulness.Skilled at relationship building with team members, vendors, funders, contractors, etc.Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Community Progress Council.This position may require driving company vehicles. Motor vehicles record checks will be completed.
