We are hiring a Chief People Officer for Tatte Bakery & Cafe based in Boston, Massachusetts. Read below for more information:

Tatte Bakery & Cafe, a cherished Boston-based business renowned for its Mediterranean and French-inspired pastries, is poised for significant national expansion. We are seeking a forward-thinking Chief People Officer who will spearhead our human resources strategy, ensuring Tatte's growth fosters our core values of community, excellence, and innovation.

Based in Boston, this role will be pivotal in maintaining our cultural integrity while scaling our operations nationwide. Reporting to the CEO, this leader is a cultural steward for Tatte and is responsible for developing a people-first culture that is rooted in our mission and values of inspiring, caring for and nurturing all team members.

This person will be responsible for developing and executing the human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company, specifically in the areas of talent management, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision and Execution:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with Tatte's national expansion goals, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compliance, Policy Implementation, and Total Rewards.
  • Work effectively and strategically with the leadership team and board of directors to enable and enact strong people policies and organizational effectiveness plans and procedures.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, delivering insights that drive business decisions.

Cultural Stewardship:

  • Uphold and amplify Tatte's unique culture, ensuring that our values are embedded in every practice and policy.
  • Develop, champion, and integrate effective programs to enhance employee engagement, diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion (DEIB)

Talent Management:

  • Oversee the entire spectrum of talent management, from recruitment to succession planning, ensuring Tatte has the right people in the right roles as we grow, and meets our workforce planning strategies.
  • Has the ability to incorporate unique and innovative approaches to the development and growth of employees that supports the internal commitment to development, innovation, excellence, and diversity.
  • Design leadership development initiatives to prepare our current and future leaders for expanded responsibilities.
  • Enhance Tatte's rewards and recognition program to ensure it lives up to our standards.

Operational Excellence:

  • Optimize HR operations for scalability, incorporating technology to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and optimize for excellent HR functions including compliance, payroll, benefits, and employee relations across states.

Change Leadership:

  • Lead change management efforts, including ensuring seamless integration of new team members and sustained employee morale.
  • Develop strategies to effectively communicate and implement changes across the organization.

Innovation in HR Practices:

  • Stay at the forefront of HR trends, especially within the food and hospitality sectors, to innovate and enhance our employee experience.
  • Explore and adopt new HR technologies and methodologies.
  • Mentor and develop the HR function and its team members at Tatte, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster relationships with local communities and stakeholders as Tatte expands, aligning with our community-focused ethos.
  • Represent HR in corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, practices, and laws to ensure Tatte remains an employer of choice.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience at the VP level or high overseeing culture/HR and learning & development at a high-growth, high-volume multi-unit organization (hospitality highly preferred)
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • The ability to speak and write Spanish is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive business outcomes through people strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, with the ability to inspire and influence across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with HR analytics and HR software systems.
  • Strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Proven commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, equity & belonging in the work environment.
  • Experience collaborating with, managing, and building geographically diversified teams
  • Strong business acumen and can contribute at both a strategic and operational level. · Capable of communicating and influencing decisions across a complex, fast-paced organization.
