Summary:

The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will be responsible for developing and executing the procurement strategy for the organization, ensuring that all sourcing activities align with the company's goals and regulatory requirements. This role will oversee the procurement of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), packaging, and other essential supplies, while managing supplier relationships and optimizing costs. The CPO will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of high-quality materials necessary for the development and production of our pharmaceutical products.
strategic Leadership:
Establishing a clear vision for the procurement function that supports the company's goals, such as cost reduction, quality improvement, and innovation.
Identifying future procurement needs and trends, and creating long-term plans to ensure the organization is well-positioned to meet its operational and strategic goals.
Working closely with other departments, such as R&D, manufacturing, and finance, to ensure that procurement strategies are integrated into the broader business strategy and that all stakeholders are aligned.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration, innovation, and mutual growth, while also ensuring that suppliers meet quality and compliance standards.
Leading initiatives to improve procurement processes and systems, driving cultural change within the organization to embrace best practices and continuous improvement.
Cross functional leadership:
Work closely with research and development teams to understand upcoming product needs and specifications.
Ensure timely sourcing of materials and components required for new product development and innovation.
Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align procurement activities with production schedules and capacity.
Address any supply chain issues that may impact production efficiency and product quality.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for all procured materials.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the procurement process.
Partner with finance to develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
Provide insights on procurement spending and potential savings opportunities to support financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 7 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
