Job Description:

We are currently partnered with a PE backed Financial Services Firm in NY who invest in Wealth Management & Fiduciary firms. They are looking to bring on a Chief Risk Officer who can help build out the companies Risk Framework, Risk Appetite, and Risk Strategy. This is a pivotal role for the firm as they will building out the risk framework from scratch. In this role the individual must have a strong technical background but you all need to have the gravitas and ability solve complex problems and develop the strategy for growth and framework from scratch. This role is looking for someone who can take the firm into the next level of growth and be effective in making sure they have built out a best-in-class risk management practice. In this role you will get to work alongside the COO who has worked at some of the best names on Wall Street and recently joined to help take the next level. This role will cover a global remit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an overall comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the organization's objectives, policies, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a risk framework to manage risk within the organization.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across all areas of the organization, including financial, operational, market, strategic, and regulatory risks.
  • Establish processes for ongoing monitoring of risks, including key risk indicators (KRIs), and provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Help Foster a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization by promoting awareness, training, and accountability at all levels.
  • Stay informed about emerging risks and industry trends that may impact the organization, and to continue to review and improves risk management practices
  • Partner with other senior executives, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and General Counsel, to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
  • 15+ years experience in risk management, ideally within wealth management or Fiduciary expertise
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing a best-in-class risk framework and strategy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent ability to influence and build executive level partnerships
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.

Total Compensation: $600k-$800k
