We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adultsIn the position of Therapist with our Children and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Team you would be asked to work with First Responders in mental health and substance use crisis's that involve our younger population. Providing therapeutic care and resources for the client and their families while assessing situations in an often-emergent situation. The incumbent will work with the therapeutic teams and community resources to establish treatment plans and goals while communicating the needs of individuals involved and supporting their assigned co therapist (This is a Full-Time position, week one: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7AM-7PM, week two: Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday 7AM-7PM)What is needed for the position:
  • Masters in a social sciences field with a clinical practicum or internship
  • 1 year postmasters clinical experience preferred
  • Excellent 5 year driving record & reliable transportation
  • Valid Alabama Driver's License w/ required Personal Liability Insurance Automobile Insurance as outlined in the amount of $100k/$300k/$50k
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Preferred minimum of one year working with seriously emotionally disturbed children (SED)
  • Preferred experience with crisis
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours
  • Ability to work as a member of a Team
What you'll be doing:
  • Conduct individual and/or family therapy with children and adolescent population ages three to eighteen
  • Work with Program Manager and co-therapist to assist families on a 24/7 call basis
  • Provide Crisis Intervention for client and client's family when called
  • Perform initial assessments, intakes and prepare documentation of such for client's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Prepare with client a treatment plan to include goals
  • Facilitate warm hand-off to co-therapist and or care coordinator
  • Obtain certification in the CANS System
  • Conduct CANS Assessments
  • Work closely with co-therapist, care coordinator & guardians regarding client's needs
  • Participate in various meetings to include departmental, divisional, or other meetings as required by the Director, Chief Clinical Officer or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain educational requirements regarding licensure, Department of Mental Health State Standards
  • Perform outreach in partnership with DHR
  • 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends twice a month.
  • Other duties as requested or outlined by the Program Manager, Division Director, Chief Clinical Officer and/or CE
