POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient rooms and general areas according to established departmental practices and standards. The Custodian supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service to co-workers and visitors. The Custodian cleans patient rooms and general areas, removes trash in occupied and unoccupied rooms in accordance with departmental procedures. The Custodian performs cycle cleaning and furniture placement as directed. Through effective communication and cooperative teamwork, the Custodian provides assistance to supervisors and co-workers as necessary. The Custodian responds to teacher and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: Ability to read, write, and speak English is required. High School Diploma preferred.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:EXPERIENCE: Prior experience helpful, but not required. Reliable transportation required between sites. Ability to read, write, and speak English preferred.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the pre-school environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Physical demands include but are not limited to excessive walking, standing, and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.
