***Granbury ISD requires three references from former employers, college professors, supervisors, etc. with at least a minimum of two references being from previous supervisors. Granbury ISD will not accept references from friends or family members.***Calendar: 190 daysPRIMARY PURPOSE:Demonstrate the ability and desire to work effectively with young children and their families. Perform typical physical tasks in a childcare setting. Maintain the health, welfare, and safety of each child enrolled as it applies to their individual respect and to their ongoing development.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:High School Diploma or GEDEducation/Certification:Education/Certification:High School Diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of developmental milestones of young childrenAbility to work flexible hours, be punctual and demonstrate a positive attitudeDisplay good communication skills and ability to receive and follow directionsExperience:Previous experience working with children in a childcare settingMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Development and implement curriculum and daily lesson plans based on assessment of each child's developmentUse developmental milestones as the primary means of gathering developmental data on child's growth and meeting their needsWork as a member of a team to ensure continuity of curriculum and high standard of quality in all classroomsMaintain the care-giving standards established by the Texas Department of Family and Protective ServicesMaintain a minimum of 24 annual clock hours of professional developmentAcquire and maintain CPR and First Aid certificationMonitor, observe, and supervise groups of children indoors and outdoorsProvide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-disciplinedObserve and report any hazardous conditions of the building, grounds, or equipment to supervisorsCommunicate (verbal, written, and electronic) regularly with parents on children's daily activitiesPerform emergency evacuation proceduresAttend to the hygienic needs of childrenMaintain confidentiality of information regarding children, parents, and other staffFollow rules, regulations and policies of Granbury ISD and follow directives from supervisorsFollow attendance policy as assigned by supervisorPerform other functions that may be assigned by Administration and/or supervisorEssential Job Functions:Requires the ability to demonstrate patience and understanding of children. Also requires the ability to see, hear, learn, and implement developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior management techniques. Year-round as determined in handbook, 30 hours a week.
