Please reach out to Heidi Eckart with any questions at 701-###-####. **You may apply for this position at CHILD CARE WORKER Reports to: Lead Teacher/Program Director Supervises: NA Summary: The Child Care Worker supports the classroom teacher and staff in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day activities, classroom management, and ensuring that children's individual needs are met in a developmentally appropriate manner. The Child Care Worker works collaboratively with other staff to create a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child. Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- Recommended minimum of one year of experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Completion of ND Growing Futures Getting Started Modules, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Completion of ND Growing Futures Safe Sleep Modules, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors.
- Must pass background check every five years & meet all local and state requirements for child care providers.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children's activities and progress as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations, following proper protocols.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials, toys, and supplies for daily activities.
- Ensure classroom supplies are stocked, organized, and maintained.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures for cleaning toys, equipment, and facilities.
Caregiving
- Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
- Supervise and engage children in daily activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Support individual needs of each child, respecting their abilities, background, and family culture.
- Provide guidance & reinforcement for positive behavior, following established discipline policies.
- Participate actively in all classroom activities and encourage student participation.
- Observe and document children's behaviors and progress to report to the Lead Teacher.
- Monitor children during meal times, nap times, outdoor play, and restroom breaks.
Other
- Answer phones, contact parents, and document evidence as required.
- Bookkeeping duties as needed.
- Demonstrate a positive, caring attitude towards children, parents, and colleagues.
- Adapt to changing needs and demands within the classroom environment.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Program Director to support the overall operation of the program.
