We are currently looking for a Full Time Child Development Teacher Assistant to join our Child Development Center Ardmore team located at the Chickasaw Nation Child Development Center - Ardmore working .Summary:Assists in providing quality child care services in a secure, loving environment that promotes development for all children.Responsibilities:* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Assists in daily needs of child- Ensures bedding is clean and sanitary- Changes wet or soiled clothing- Provides quality care services in secure, loving environment- Promotes development for all- Provides an environment which will allow sufficient time for engagement with each child* Assists in supervision of children during mealtime, activities, and movement thru play* Assists with keeping classrooms and work areas neat and clean ensuring toys are cleaned weekly and sorted daily* Assist in preparation of lesson planning and execution of classroom activities* Notify teacher in less than 2 hours if child is absent* Ensures all bedding is clean and sanitary at all times and diapers and clothing are changed promptly when wet or soiled* Provides environment and time to engage with child both emotionally and physically* Collaborates and ensures the health, welfare and safety of the children in the group* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Principles and practices of early childhood education and development* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs* Establishes professional working relationships as appropriate* Works well within a team* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Teach children various skills and knowledge* Use voice in authoritative mannerSkills:Essential:* Basic Computer skillsExperience:Essential:* No prior experience required.Education:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Sitting up to 50% of shift* Standing up to 75% of shiftNonessential:* Child care setting
