Job Description

The Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech is recruiting a clinical child psychologist for a non-tenure-track clinical faculty position within our clinical science Ph.D. training program. Our Clinical Science program is nationally recognized (2017 ABCT Outstanding Training Program) and dually accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS).

Primary responsibilities will include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate students (including but not limited to Child Assessment, Practicum Training and Externship Support, Psychological Disorders of Children), supervising doctoral students on therapy cases and child assessment cases, and supporting the overall mission and activities of the Child Study Center and Psychological Services Center, including contributing to program administration, community outreach, and partnerships with area school districts. Although research expectations for this position are reduced, there will be opportunities for collaboration with faculty and graduate students affiliated with the Child Study Center and the Department of Psychology, mentoring of undergraduate students on research projects, and utilization of the Child Assessment Clinic database for personal research activities.
