PLEASE REVIEW ATTACHMENTS FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE APPLICATION PROCESS.Department: Women's MinistryReports To: Luis Nodal, Director of Adult MinistriesFLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly, 40 hours per weekJob Goal: The Women's Life Assistant Director helps assist in leading, guiding, and empowering the Women's Ministry team at Thomas Road, while working alongside other adult ministries team members to ensure that the women of Thomas Road have multiple opportunities to experience life transformation through Jesus Christ and become all that they are designed, called, and gifted to be. The Women's Life Assistant Director will lead women to love God and love people.Duties and Responsibilities:
Programming- Assist the Women's Director in the leading and developing of Women's ministry programs which aim to connect women with one another and encourage their spiritual growth in Christ
- Help manage and lead the Women's Life Bible studies on Tuesdays
- Help give direction to the teaching, worship, curriculum, and speakers for women's events and studies
- Help write and develop Bible studies for women on Tuesdays
- Create curriculum and studies to increase Word-Fed groups
Leader Development- Assist the Director with the development and implementation of a leader training structure
- Develop a tracking path for continued mentoring and training for all WL ministries
- Lead, create, pray for, and support the lay leadership team for women's Bible study, women's serving, and women's social events
- Develop leader's training content to equip leaders
Teaching & Reaching- Help train and develop women to dig deeper into God's Word
- Research and develop ways to reach younger women and make Women's Life more relevant to them
- Help co-teach Tuesday women's study
- Develop teaching team for bible study
- Create weekly podcast that go deeper on Bible study teaching.
- This entails the coordinating, organizing, studying, and content creating
Events- Oversee the planning and execution of WL events including the Gathering, Leader Luncheon trainings, Summer Serve, Sweet Time Gala, Leader Retreats, Back to School Bash, Spring Banquet, Worship Nights, Mentor and Mentee Events, C3 Nights, etc.
- Identify partnerships with mission's department and connect Women's Life to them
- Oversee ministry events that happen with Widow Life, Mom Life, Single Womens Life, Single Mom Life, Hello Lynchburg, Precept, Bible Study Fellowship
- Oversee off-campus ministries and events
Communication- Develop and run WL social media content
- Coordinate with communications director any marketing requests or printed communication
Adult Ministry Team Responsibilities- Help team with any events or training during the year such as LEAD & Group Sundays
- Help the Adult Ministries Pastor by providing input for training events or material
- Attend monthly Adult Ministry team meetings
Curriculum Writing & Development- Help write and strategize content for any ministry department (Example- START Book, Life group church wide questions etc.)
Administration- Reserve spaces for all women's events and programming on eSpace
- Organize groups on planning center
- Create registrations for events
- Weekly emails to women's groups regarding upcoming events
- Create weekly service flow on planning center
- Make power points for Bible study each week
Discipleship- Train and develop apprentices and residents
- Create a discipleship guide for Women's Ministry
- Disciple young adult women in women's life through monthly meetings
Outreach and Evangelism- Develop a pathway for women's life to be missionally minded
- Develop summer serve
- Promote mission trips
- Organize outreach events
Provide Ministry Oversight:
Flourish/Bible Studies- Select studies every semester
- Order materials for selected studies
- Give direction and guidance to two additional studies on Tuesday mornings and evenings (Inductive, Bible Study Fellowship)
Women's Life Mentoring- Cast vision and promote to all of Women's Life ministries
- Order curriculum materials needed for each semester
Mom Life- Meet with leaders bi-monthly as a group and individually throughout the year
- Assist leaders in creating the yearly calendar of events
Hello Lynchburg- Promote this ministry within the church and throughout the community
- Create an event calendar for this ministry each semester
Single Mom Life- Support through promoting events, ordering supplies
- Meet bi-monthly with leadership team to provide support
Widow Life- Provide support to leadership, assist in events through whatever is needed by leadership team
Single Women- Support through promoting events, ordering supplies
- Help train and develop leaders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years' experience in ministry
