HOUSTON COUNTY SCHOOLS JOB TITLE : Child Nutrition Program Worker QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in school food services preferred. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations. FLSA : Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager/Designee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Prepares and serves food as assigned. Performs custodial, dish room, serving area, and/or storeroom duties as assigned. Maintains high standards of sanitation and work safety. Operates and maintains food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner. Maintains an effective working relationship with the manager and other employees. Provides cordial and professional service to students and others. Works in any position in the department as directed by the manager. Directs and supervises work of others as assigned by the manager. Communicates effectively with the public, staff members, students, parents, administrators, and other contact persons using tact and good judgment. Follows attendance, punctuality, and proper dress rules. Ensures adherence to good safety standards. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. Models and maintains high ethical standards. Demonstrates initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. Maintains expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives. Participates successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment. Keeps the supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events. Responds to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Exhibits interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member. Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals and priorities. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement. Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to follow instructions and complete responsibilities guided by standard practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to provide professional and cordial service to students and others. Knowledge of sanitation and work safety procedures. Knowledge of food preparation procedures. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. Length of the year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
