POSITION: Cafeteria Technician (Cafeteria Worker)TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 MonthSALARY: See Level 3 Schedule 3 Pay Scale (base only; does not include sales taxes)DATES TO APPLY: July 18, 2024 - July 27, 2024 (or until position is filled)Qualified applicants who have submitted a complete application packet will be contacted and notified of an interview schedule by the school principal. JOB PURPOSE: To directly participate in the preparation and serving of nutritious food to the school childrne of Morehouse Parish. QUALIFICATIONSThe applicant must demonstrate teh ability to read and write, follow written instructions, and interpret recipes and necessary printed matter. In addition, the applicant must have earned a high school diploma, its equivalency or pass an examination to demonstrate these competencies. REPORTS TO: Cafeteria ManagerJOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Be responsible for preparing and serving food in keeping with the menus and standardized recipes.2. Must be able to interpret and follow standardized recipes independently as needed. 3. Clean and care for the cafeteria equipment and cafeteria facilities, including restroom; adhering to established sanitation and personal hygiene techniques. 4. Serve correct portions, using correct serving utensils and report the amount of food leftover at the end of the meal service. 5. Record all food withdrawn from storage in the exact amounts as used. 6. In the absence of the manager, receive deliveries, check for accuracy of all food, paper and other items delivered and run the POS if needed. 7. Have the ability to complete simple math problems involving addition and subtraction involved in food service. 8. Practice correct procedure for lifting heavy objects. 9. Cooperate with the Cafeteria Manager in all phases of Schoool Nutrition Program Operations. 10. Serve children and staff from the cafeteria counter while maintaining a positive atmosphere. 11. Attend mandated meetings. 12. Attend School Nutrition Program Meetings to keep abreast of new ideas and offer support for the program. 13. Be encouraged to be an active member in national, state, and local School Nutrition Association to provide for professional growth in the school nutrition field. 14. Perform any other duties as assigned by higher authority.
