This position requires independence of action in the application of office guidelines to the assigned tasks. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Utilize KIDS, wiKIDS, Word, Excel, Google calendar, and other related programs.
- Operate a multi-line telephone system and handle general customer questions.
- Receipt customer payments-in person and by phone.
- Document all communications (written or oral) with customers.
- Sort, index, and file records in paper files.
- Act as the gatekeeper in CCAP.
- Print, copy, and distribute orders from CCAP.
- Back-up administrator on financial tasks.
- Send wage assignments as needed.
- Create new paper files and coinciding index cards as needed.
- Run mail.
- Schedule court hearings as needed.
- Assist co-workers with special projects, as requested
- Interpret and calculate obligations/arrears based on financial documents/records.
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, custodial/noncustodial parents, local sources and authorities, other governmental agencies, and the public.
- Prepare affidavits, correspondence, and legal documents as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- And such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * One or two years of college, business, trade or technical school in legal or related child support field * Three or more years of qualifying experience in legal or related child support field. * One year experience interviewing and investigating to obtain, verify, and analyze financial and/or social data.* Experience using word processing software and windows applications* Experience using KIDS system or computers for case management and interface investigation desirable* Experience in determining appropriate child support enforcement action preferred* Experience negotiating with attorneys and responsible parties regarding child support matters desirable. * Knowledge of family law procedures and practices. * Knowledge of financial statements, such as income tax forms and personal budgets.Other The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:LANGUAGE SKILLS: * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical and legal procedures, or governmental regulations. * Ability to communicate in either written or oral form, especially in sensitive situations. * Ability to write reports and business correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public..MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: * Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and propositions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY: * Ability to exercise good independent judgment and carry out assignments with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines. *Ability to learn assigned tasks and to adhere to prescribed routines. * Ability to negotiate financial agreements.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
