Children's ages range from infant to seven years. Morning shift is 8:00am-1:00pm and evening shift is 4:00pm-7:00pmESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure a clean and safe program environment for all children by following all YMCA rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Provide appropriate supervision to all children and assume accountability for all children in care
- Provide a warm and engaging environment for all children, staff, and families
- Complete necessary logs and reports
- Maintain and care for supplies, equipment and program meeting areas
- Engage in active listening with members and program participants in order to build relationships, understand individual's goals and interests, and take the initiative to ensure the member has a positive experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 16 years of age
- Certifications: CPR and AED (in house training provided)
- Previous experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 7 years preferred
- Possesses a strong understanding of the YMCA and its purpose, mission and values
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
- Schedule availability; morning shift is 8:00am-1:00pm and evening shift is 4:00pm-7:00pm
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The employee will occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
- Employee will regularly stand for lengths of time
- Ability to engage and properly care for children
