The YMCAof Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking aChild Watch Attendantto join our team!The YMCAfocuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As aChild Watch Attendant, you will ensure a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age
- Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children
- Play actively with the children by adapting activities to the needs of each
- Communicate with parents regarding their children's behavior and safety
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and order in the child watch area
Are you a good fit?
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- You have six months or more of related experience preferred.
- You have a positive attitude and previous experience with youth and diverse populations.
- You have knowledge and skills in program activities and related office equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.
- You have current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
- Able and willing to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required
Wage:$16.28 to $16.78 per hour, depending on qualificationsHours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per weekLocation: LakewoodFamily YMCA, Lakewood, WABenefits:
