The Caseworker is responsible for helping adults, childrenand families find and obtain government resources like healthcare services,financial aid or counseling. Dutiesinclude meeting with clients to identify their needs, using resources in thegovernment, healthcare and financial service industries to offer assistance totheir clients/patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Confirms Medicaid or other insurance eligibility for causalitycases
- Obtains additional information required for case start-upfrom beneficiaries and/or attorneys Intakes referral leads from attorneys,insurance adjusters, and medical providers
- Reviews and research leads regarding potential accident ortrauma situations Investigates, research, review, and compile information frommultiple sources
- Interfaces with attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medicalproviders, court staff, personal representatives/executors of estates, andfamily members
- Prepares necessary correspondence, liens, and otherdocuments
- Works, maintains, and manages active Casualty and/or Estaterecovery cases Performs basic legal research; compile various reports
- Reviews medical claims histories
- Files and maintains case history reports
- Interviews client to assess their situational needs and thendetermines services/resources that are applicable and accessible for client
- Serves as a liaison and advocate between the client andsocial, financial, health and legal services
- Develops a plan of action to improve client's overallwell-being
- Plans regular follow ups to assess progress and changes incurrent needs
- Reviews and modifies plans as appropriate based on clientcircumstantial changes
Minimum Requirements: - 1+ year's professional experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent organizational andprioritization skills
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences preferred
- Familiarity with Medicaid rules and regulations preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
