The Retreat offers an excellent benefits package, including health insurance and generous PTO. CHILDCARE ADVOCATE: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Plan, coordinate, and implement child and family-centered educational and recreational activities for mothers and their children, ages birth to 17 years of age. Enhance parent/child relationships through play and communication. Provide supervision of children to support parents participating in shelter program. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Design, develop, and implement child and family-centered educational and recreational activities for mothers and their children, ages birth to 17 years, including individual activities, group activities, and parent/child activities
  • Submit weekly plan to the Shelter Director, including evening and weekend activities for families
  • Organize and facilitate the Take 5 Program at least three times per week
  • Enhance parent/child relationships through play and communication
  • Provide supervision of children to support parents participating in the program.
  • Assist with school registration, pediatrician appointments, day and summer camps as needed.
  • Assist families during fire drills and emergency evacuations
Hot Line Management
  • Answer crisis hotline calls; process proper paperwork for all calls received; enter information into the database
