GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The drop-in center is designed to provide free, temporary, short-term childcare for the studentsof the Excel Center until regular childcare is located. The drop-in center is available whenstudents are studying on-site or are in class and will serve children up to age 12. A child maystay at the drop-in center for a maximum of 4 consecutive hours each day.The Childcare Attendant assists in ensuring the safe and caring management of all the childrenentrusted to the drop-off center. This means monitoring children in the center, serving snacks,and facilitating learning opportunities for the children while in their care. Additionally, theAttendant will assist in keeping parents informed of policies and procedures at the center.Uphold a positive work environment that follows Goodwill's Amazing Customer Experience(ACE) culture, Values, and Mission in everything you do and every interaction you have with coworkers, clients, customers, and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Facilitates hands-on interactive learning experiences working with children directly.2. Assists in the registration process of children.3. Updates and ensures accuracy of student files.4. Maintains regular communication with parents regarding services, enrollment, scheduling orroutine changes, special events for the child(ren).5. Assists in achieving of short- and long-term goals for the Center.6. Contributes ideas for the development and facilitates the execution of the curriculum andprogram activities.7. Participates in regular team meetings.8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutymentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skillarea, e.g., data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 12 to 18months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education andexperience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSChild/infant CPR certified or willing to obtain

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONEducation• High school diploma and/or G.E.D required• Continuing Education in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related fieldis preferred.

Qualifications• 1-year experience in a childcare setting• Coursework/training in early childhood development is a plus• Child/infant CPR certified or willing to obtain• Has working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: GoogleApplications (specifically Gmail), Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Must possess excellent customer service skills• Flexible, energetic, and detail-oriented• Ability to juggle multiple duties• Ability to resolve conflicts• Must be at least 18 years old• Must be able to pass a criminal background

Center Hours of Operation: Hours range from 8:00 AM-9:30 PM Monday-Thursday & 8:00 AM5:00 PM on Friday. Hours will vary depending on location.
