Job Title: Childcare FloaterReports to: Administrator/Administrative AssistantFLSA Status: Exempt (Hourly)Salary range: Not less than $12 based on experienceCompany status: Permanent Full-time or Part-timeEssential Duties:Always ensure the health and safety of children, this includes but is not limited to feeding, diapering, providing comfort during naptime, and following safe sleep guidelines.Assist in guiding children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, and colors, do crafts, etc.).Promote Goodwill within the community to enhance its public image and to obtain support for the furtherance of our mission. Demonstrate commitment to the highest standards possible in relationships with internal and external associates.Responsibilities:Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.Encourage healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facilities. Assist teachers with teaching and supervising the children while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.Assist classroom teacher with both long- and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy.Assist in giving other center staff adequate time for breaks while maintaining staff/child ratio. Will be expected to substitute for other team members to ensure the provision of services and to maintain staff/child ratio.Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor and outdoor games, drawing, etc.) to enhance the child's abilities.Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action in coordination with the Lead Teacher.Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice making; ask open ended questions and listen respectfully.Conduct daily health checks to ensure children are free from communicable diseases.Prepare meals and snacks.Assist with meal clean-up, serving of children, and completing all required tracking and meal counts.Answer the door.Assist Lead Teacher with creating a welcoming and safe environment, implementing lesson plans, serve as a play partner, and assume the duties of the Lead Teacher in their absence.Maintain an inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for the classroom.Attend and participate in regular childcare meetings and training sessions as scheduled.Maintain confidentiality.Follow all Goodwill Childcare and Goodwill of South Central Ohio policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to work with all types of people, including those with disabilities. A self-starter who can work independently and as a team player. Must be able to follow instructions, have good attendance, and deal with stressful situations.Articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend others' needs.Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods.Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills; oral and written communication skills; and evaluation skills.Demonstrated proficiency with computers and software programs, such as Excel, Word, and cloud-based software.Must attain all required state certifications.Good organization and time-management ski
