We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Childcare Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare services and ensure that children receive the care and support they need. Position Overview The Childcare Program Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the organization's childcare program. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the childcare facility, ensuring compliance with regulations, developing age-appropriate curricula, managing staff, and creating a nurturing environment that supports the well-being and development of the children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, program management, and experience working with vulnerable populations. Key Responsibilities
- Program Management: Oversee the daily operations of the childcare program, ensuring that it provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and curricula that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement age-appropriate curricula and activities that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children. Ensure that curricula are inclusive and culturally sensitive, meeting the diverse needs of the children and families served.
- Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate childcare staff, including teachers, assistants, and volunteers. Provide ongoing coaching, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure high-quality care and education.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the childcare program complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and child protection laws. Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Parent and Family Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular communication about their child's progress, program activities, and any concerns. Offer support and resources to families as needed.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the childcare program budget, including monitoring expenditures, approving purchases, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Identify funding needs and collaborate with the development team to secure grants and donations.
- Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to child enrollment, attendance, developmental assessments, and program activities. Prepare regular reports for the Director of Programs or Executive Director, as well as for funders and regulatory agencies.
- Program Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the childcare program, including assessing child outcomes, parent satisfaction, and program quality. Make recommendations for program improvements and implement changes as needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to children and families as needed. Ensure that staff are trained in crisis management and that appropriate protocols are in place.
- Community Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and other stakeholders to enhance program services and opportunities for children and families. Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare program management. Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations, particularly children, is highly desirable. Skills
