Children's Aid VISTA LeaderSouth Bronx Rising Together's work was inspired early on by a vision that emerged from a series of conversations with students, families, service providers, community leaders, elected officials, and other stakeholders: we envision the South Bronx as a vibrant community of infinite opportunity, where people aspire to live, work, and raise families. This is a bold vision for any community to strive for, but even more so for the South Bronx - a place that has been the canonical image of urban blight and inequity since the 1960s and which has endured decades of neglect and injustice. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.Member Duties : Through the efforts of the VISTA Leader, this project aims to develop a multifaceted strategy with three primary goals - recruitment, professional development, and sustainability. Firstly, the VISTA Leader will bolster recruitment efforts in the very communities our AmeriCorps members will serve, fostering a deeper connection to local needs and promoting community engagement. Secondly, the VISTA Leader will nurture the professional growth of our AmeriCorps members, equipping them with the skills and experiences that will not only benefit their service year, but also inspire a long-term commitment to the Bronx.
