Who were looking for:

This individuals responsibility will be to design, develop, implement, supervise, and provide specialized family centered programs for the children of pregnant and postpartum women with SUD participating in residential treatment at House of Healing as described in the Project plan and goals and objectives. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures, but the coordinator is expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. Work is reviewed by the Project Director through an evaluation of assignments and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities in this role may include:

  • Provide screenings and developmental diagnostic assessments regarding the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical status of the infants at birth through developmental trajectories of the children for all children both in House of Healing and at other locations.
  • Conduct prevention assessments and interventions related to mental, emotional, and behavioral wellness.
  • Provide mental health care that includes a trauma-informed system of assessments, interventions, and social-emotional skill building services.
  • Provide or refer to developmental services and therapeutic interventions, including childcare, counseling, play and art therapy, occupational, speech, and physical therapies.
  • Provide access to primary and pediatric health care services, including immunizations, and treatment for asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and any perinatal and environmental effects of maternal and/or paternal substance use, e.g., HIV, abuse, and neglect.
  • Provide all services detailed in the FOA for children.
  • Oversee the development of family/SO outreach educational and referral as scheduled especially that involved with fathers.
  • Develop and maintain contacts and Agreements with collaborators as appropriate for the continuing development and achievement of Project goals and objectives.
  • Travel is necessary to the Pittsburgh area and southern counties of Pennsylvania.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Project Director.

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications for this role:

    Education and Training: Bachelor's Degree in a psychology or related discipline plus specialized SUD training. Experience: Five (5) years of SUD intervention and treatment experience including women and childrens programs.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Specialized training and experience in working with children and family centered principles, strategies, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the SUD and youth and adult subculture, values, beliefs, and patterns.
  • Knowledge of the physical and emotional manifestations of children with parental SUD.
