Internal Posting Dates: December 9, 2024-December 14, 2024CHMC –Children's Mental Health Unit- LPN – Per Diem- Day Shift- 7:30a-8:00p– Requisition 8065Job Grade: $24.66-$29.42*A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Children's Mental Health Department assists in the care of individuals suffering from mental illnesses, working with patients and their families to meet their mental health needs and provide personalized care as appropriate. Duties consist of recording findings, alterations in patient's condition and also reports virtually any observed alternation in individual's situation to the Registered Nurse; collaborates well with team members to help positive patient care results; supplies a wide range of associated medical aid to sufferers having a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems. Administer and perform medication education and counseling. The (CMHC) LPN will need to have strong communication skills and be able to work as a member of the Code Orange Team. Ensures care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with CHMC standards. An LPN will work under the direct supervision of an RN.Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Valid NYS LPN license. BLS certification preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Mandated child abuse course. Trauma informed call training. Health teaching and counseling. Ability to provide supportive, restorative care. Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information. Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies. Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security. Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities. Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information. Maintaining a safe and clean environment as well as maintaining infection control standards. Acknowledging changes in a patient's condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel. Performing various intervention tasks assigned by the charge nurse. Crisis Intervention Training within hospital orientation period. Prior experience in Mental Health preferred.Requirements: Bending, lifting, standing, walking*The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
