Job Title: Chop Line OperatorJob DescriptionWill be preparing and monitoring the chop line, which cuts long strands of carbon fiber into smaller pieces.Will be responsible for keeping the rack supplied with spools by tying spools together so that the active spool transitions seamlessly to the backup spool.In addition to keeping the spools loaded, will specify the type of cut by entering the function on an HMI screen (Graphic User Interface).Will also monitor the eyelets and remove any carbon fiber buildup, as well as monitor other areas of the line for buildup throughout the process.Responsible for collecting bags of finished product and tying them closed.As the role progresses, they will be taught how to build backup chopper heads for the chop line.Additional Skills & QualificationsOne year of manufacturing experience required.Experience with Bodine Aluminum, Mallinckrodt, Megamet.General labor and production experience.Proficiency with hand tools.Basic math skills.Why Work Here?The company offers entry-level candidates a good wage with the opportunity to earn more over time based on performance and progression.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is extremely hot, with temperatures in the chop area exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit during summer months. There is a consistent presence of carbon fiber dust in the air, which can be very itchy. Long sleeves, long pants, gloves, and steel-toed boots are required. Masks and special sleeves are provided to protect the skin, and candidates may need to wear multiple layers for protection. During a monthly process that produces extreme levels of dust, employees are provided with full suits.Contractors will work in teams of two. All shifts are 12-hour shifts, with two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break. The swing schedule repeats every two weeks as follows: Week 1 - Monday: Work, Tuesday: Work, Wednesday: Off, Thursday: Off, Friday: Work, Saturday: Work, Sunday: Work.
