Job Description:

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Harris-Stowe State University will be a leader in small business development, innovation, and leadership development by catering to the needs of scholars, local and regional minority entrepreneurs by providing support, education, and consulting for the small business and startup community. The mission is to serve as a hub of entrepreneurial activities to foster the growth of emerging entrepreneurs and cultivate the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders from underserved communities as future business owners. We will realize the mission by facilitating entrepreneurship curriculum, hands-on educational training, and services to complement formal classroom learning in a state-of-the-art entrepreneurship center for Harris-Stowe State University students and the community.

Job Summary

The CIE Community Manager manages, coordinates, and oversees building management and facility oversight at CIE. The CIE Community Manager is expected to aid with various tasks, including but not limited to greeting guests, administrative tasks, building management, and program support. The CIE Community Manager reports to the CIE Executive Director.

Essential Functions

* Greeting and managing our welcome center area for CIE visitors.

* Manage related administrative tasks, including email correspondence, and document preparation.

* Oversee day/ evening event planning and coordination, including programs, meetings, workshops, and conferences.

* Maintain organized records and files, both digital and physical.

* Handle office building inventory and procurement.

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of CIE facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

* Coordinate maintenance and repairs, working with vendors and service providers.

* Manage facility-related budgets and expenses.

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

* Manage the use of shared spaces and resources.

* Implement and enforce building policies and procedures.

* Attend community vendor and exhibitor events to represent and promote CIE, as requested.

* Gather feedback from community members to improve programs and services

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field.

* 2+ years of experience in administrative support, building management, or related roles.

* Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Availability to work weekends and evenings as required.

* Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and community building

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Experience in event planning and coordination.

* Familiarity with building management systems and tools.

* Knowledge of the local startup and innovation ecosystem.

* Presentation and public speaking skills
