Tri-State Utilities, headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia, is the premier provider of sewer cleaning, CCTV inspection, CIPP lining, and excavation and repairs in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. We're focused on the long-term dedication of our services to facility owners, government agencies, engineers, and construction firms. We currently have one opening at our Chesapeake, VA branch. The Tri-State Utilities' team is committed to hiring top-performing individuals seeking long term employment with growth opportunities and benefits. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of all members of the crew in collaboration with the Superintendent, VP of Operations, and Project Manager.
  • Train, mentor, and coach crew members to provide direction and support to ensure jobs are completed safely, within budget, and on time.
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine job site requirements and to plan procedures.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations for the job, using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Order any needed supplies, including PPE. Ensure PPE is on all job sites and being used appropriately for the duration of the job.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery through the Shop Manager. Attempt to repair equipment or machinery if possible.
  • Continually assess job sites - communicate any hazards, job site problems, or other issues to the respective party including the Superintendent, Safety Manager or otherwise.
  • Report all vehicle incidents/accidents and injuries to the Safety Manager or Director (HR as backup). Complete any required incident or injury forms within 24 hours of incident and provide to the HR manager.
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, environmental, or other regulations.
  • Assist construction crew on job site with manual labor as needed to ensure job is completed on time with a quality finished product.
What we need from you:
  • You must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy weight of more than 50 pounts.
  • You must be able to walk up or down hilly terrain and able to work outside in all weather elements.
  • You may be required to stand for several hours at one time without rest.
  • Ability to travel, potentially many weeks of the month.
  • Ability to work overtime and nights as needed.
  • Valid driver's license, preferably a CDL
  • 3+ years' experience in construction, preferably in the utilities industry
  • 2+ years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the construction industry
  • CPR/FA/AED certified
  • OSHA certification preferred
