APG is a family-owned community newspaper company, growing, not to get bigger, but to get better.Job Description The Customer Service Representative is a strong leader. This person will help manage our day to day operations including postal delivery, customer service and audience administrative task as assigned. This position is expected to assist the Circulation Department's goals to increase newspaper readership, achieve home delivery and expense goals as well as provide exceptional customer service to our subscribers.Functions and Responsibilities The successful candidate must be flexible, a self-starter, attentive to details, diplomatic, able to provide direction, and able to multitask. This position will work with different personality types and across several publications. Candidates for this position should have strong interpersonal skills and client orientation and exhibit an ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts as a team member as well as a team leader.Essential Functions:
- Perform job duties and conduct yourself in accordance with company core values.
- Ensure our product is delivered on time and in good condition and that our single copy locations have proper display and position to optimize our revenue potential.
- Initiate and nurture effective, professional relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Knowledge of all aspects of a circulation department or related operation as required.
- Assist in managing a diverse staff & contractor force in a 24-hour, 6 day a week operation. Must cover carrier shifts that are down and cover collections when others are off.
- Lead the staff by setting the example of honesty, respect, and honoring our commitments.
- The ability to learn how to process daily papers and run reports in Newzware.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent problem solver
- The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of (1) years of experience in circulation.
- The chosen candidate will have a car, a valid driver's license, and up-to-date insurance with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to communicate professionally via email, chat, in-person, or phone
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Talented relationship builder
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Gmail and Google Suite skills preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 2 hours
- Sit for prolonged periods of time
- Stoop, bend, squat, lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to understand and speak English
