Cisco Network Engineer with Wireless Experience
The Cisco Network Engineer with Wireless Experience is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Cisco-based network solutions with a focus on wireless technologies. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of wired and wireless network infrastructures. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement and troubleshoot complex network environments and supports projects that enhance network capabilities.
Design, implement, and maintain Cisco network solutions, including routers, switches, and wireless controllers. Configure and manage wireless access points (WAPs) to ensure optimal coverage and performance. Perform advanced troubleshooting for network connectivity, performance, and wireless interference issues. Conduct wireless site surveys and RF analysis to optimize wireless networks. Implement security protocols and policies for wireless networks, including WPA3, VLANs, and firewalls. Monitor network performance using tools like Cisco Prime, DNA Center, or similar platforms. Provide technical support for network and wireless infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaborate with teams to implement network upgrades, expansions, and security enhancements. Document network designs, configurations, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Cisco networking, including routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching (VLANs, STP, QoS). Proficiency in wireless technologies, including 802.11 standards, RF fundamentals, and WLAN design. Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless solutions (e.g., Meraki, Catalyst, AireOS).
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (Enterprise or Wireless), or CWNA (preferred).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ekahau, NetFlow).
