City of Port St. Lucie - Whispering Pines Neighborhood
The VISTA member will create an outreach plan, a volunteer management system, and a communication plan. The VISTA member will also build capacity by establishing a comprehensive volunteer management system and forging strategic partnerships with local organizations. These efforts directly serve traditionally disempowered communities and address poverty by enhancing neighborhood conditions and fostering community resilience, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty. Member Duties : - Create one outreach plan in collaboration with the Love Your Block team to reach low-engagement communities in the Love Your Block neighborhood of focus. - Gather input from at least 15 community members and stakeholders to inform the Love Your Block program design. - Deliver at least two civic deliberation community outreach activities in neighborhoods of focus. - Partner with the Love Your Block Fellow in creating and delivering mini-grant application information materials to at least 25 residents. - Design and deliver communications strategy to advertise Love Your Block mini-grants, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant aspects of the program, with the support and approval of and in collaboration with the Love Your Block Fellow and city staff. - Design one program flier, one brochure, and one social media posts to advertise the Love Your Block program.
