- Crew Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of 4-5 crew members, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Provide on-site training, mentorship, and guidance to crew members.
- Ensure that all crew members adhere to safety protocols, project timelines, and quality standards.
- Heavy Equipment Operation:
- Operate a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, to assist in civil construction tasks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Project Execution:
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper project execution.
- Oversee the layout, setup, and execution of construction tasks on-site.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during the project.
- Site Layout and Planning:
- Conduct site surveys and manage layout tasks to ensure accuracy in construction.
- Utilize your expertise in civil construction to plan and execute project phases efficiently.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets design specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to address deficiencies or improve quality.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct safety meetings, ensure the use of appropriate protective gear, and promote a culture of safety on-site.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the heavy construction or civil construction industry.
- Proven experience managing a construction crew and overseeing project tasks.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction, site layout, and surveying.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on roadwork, sewer, water, and storm drain projects.
- Operating Heavy Equipment 50k+ lbs with GPS Systems.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
