Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil / Environmental Design Engineer to join our Site Evaluation & Restoration team. This is a remote flexible opportunity. The candidate selected for this role can be based out of any Arcadis office in the East.
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will support a growing base of complex remediation projects, as well as serve as a mentor to entry-level staff. Work activities will include a mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering. Engineering activities will include civil engineering site design, earthwork evaluation, and stormwater management permitting and design.
Role accountabilities:
* Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting activities
* Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data necessary to support design objectives
* Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design analysis and documents
* Develop design calculations, technical reports, permitting, detailed design and engineering plans and specifications, and other contract documents
* Inspect construction site to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards
* Address Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design and construction work
* Recruit, mentor, and supervise entry-level staff
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
* Minimum 6 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
* Experience with site civil design using computer-based modeling applications (i.e., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
* Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and design using computer-based modeling applications (i.e., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, etc.)
* 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,600 - $146,400. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
