This is a great time to join Gannett Fleming TranSystems!ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be challenged to do:The Civil Designer position requires a candidate with 2+ years of Land Development related design experience. This position will be responsible for preparing project plans and calculations. This candidate will report to the NC Land Development (LD) Division Lead and will support Project Managers and professionals primarily in our North Carolina office locations.Essential Functions:* Performs design of site layout and supporting infrastructure, to include utility design, storm drainage, storm water management, grading and erosion control.* Assist with plan preparation from acquisition of survey data and base map preparation through final mylars and record drawings with minimal direction.* Coordinate with project managers, landscape architects, surveyors, architects, and owners in the design and development of public and private projects.* Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.* Ability to set up and manage AutoCAD drafting and plans preparation standards.* Willingness to mentor and teach others.* Assists Project Managers with the planning, design development, Quality Control, and overall management of LD design projects.* Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.QualificationsWhat you bring to our firm:* Four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related.* 2+ years of experience in civil engineering.* AutoCAD Civil 3D Proficient.* Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.What we'd prefer for you to bring to our firm:* EI on path to PE preferred.* Experience with storm drain, sanitary sewer, water distribution networks, and site grading preferred.Featured Benefits:* Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.* Comprehensive health benefits package including wellness, maternity/paternity leave, and employer paid AD&D, STD, and LTD.* 401(k) company match* Vacation accrual separate from sick time.* Eleven (11) paid holidays for 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance.* Six (6) day winter break in 2024 that is included in the paid holiday schedule.TranSystems is proud to be an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer and ensures nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity in all programs and activities in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
