Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our Environmental Business Line in the Charlotte, North Carolina office, working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture, and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

You will work with a diverse team of technical experts to deliver remediation services to our clients in the Power sector market and have the ability to work across business lines (e.g. Transportation) to support AECOM's growing business. In this role, you will support the design of various solid waste disposal facilities, earthen dams, bridges, retaining walls, roadways, and other geotechnical, civil, and remediation projects. The candidate should have at least seven years of relevant experience in civil engineering.

The job responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

+ Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.

+ Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

+ Approves and signs off on work.

+ Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.

+ Presents complex technical solutions to clients.

+ Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.

+ Participates in development of technical proposals.

+ Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

+ Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects.

+ Maintain existing client relationships and contracts by successful project delivery.

+ Develop new clients and grow the CCR and Geotechnical practice state and region wide.

+ Serve as a project manager and program manager.

+ Attend client meetings and coordinate with diverse project teams.

+ Participate in national organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM.

+ Lead AECOM client development and design efforts and recruit new talent to build AECOMs team.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

+ BA/BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Licensed Professional Engineer

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Master's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering

+ 7+ Years of related project experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments.

+ Experience preparing reports, conducting engineering analyses and calculations, overseeing the preparation of engineering design documents such as drawings and technical specifications.

+ Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work with groups across disciplines and offices.

+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as HCS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models, and stormwater management design software such as HydroCAD).

+ Experience training and leading engineers and scientists in the completion of a variety of civil engineering projects

+ Experience with dams or impoundments, Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR), or landfill design

+ Experience with NCDOT

Additional Information

+ Relocation is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.
