You will have the opportunity to:
  • Assist with the design and drafting of project components, including site plans, grading, and stormwater systems.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to observe conditions and support documentation needs.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Learn and utilize software tools, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to prepare exhibits and design plans.
  • The specifics of your responsibilities will vary based on the project needs and the team you work with, providing a well-rounded internship experience that connects your academic learning to practical application.
QualificationsWe are seeking motivated and enthusiastic civil engineering students who are eager to learn and contribute to KPFF's projects. Minimum qualifications include:
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) program.
  • Preferred completion of junior year prior to the internship start date.
  • Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and a desire for continued learning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • General understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Interns primarily work in a standard office setting with occasional travel to project sites.
  • Field visits may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
  • Must comply with all safety requirements in the office and on job sites.
Additional InformationCompensationKPFF values the contributions of our interns and strives to provide fair and competitive compensation based on location and market standards. For this position, compensation includes:
  • Hourly Pay: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour, depending on experience and local office standards.
  • Overtime Eligibility: Interns may be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with local labor laws.
  • Benefits: Depending on the location, interns may receive additional benefits such as transportation stipends, professional development opportunities, and access to networking events.
