Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating project costs related to site work and utility installations. The Civil Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely bids to secure projects, contributing to the overall success of our construction initiatives.Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for site work and utility projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary data for cost estimation.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid or QuickBid to compile and present estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather relevant information for accurate bidding.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for future reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Civil Estimator, preferably in site work and utilities.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, costs, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software, particularly HeavyBid and QuickBid.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for cost estimation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
