Job Summary:
As a Civil Journeyman, you will be responsible for executing skilled concrete work, including setting forms, placing and tying rebar, and ensuring the proper installation of concrete structures. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work in challenging environments, contributing to the construction and maintenance of industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set forms that hold concrete to the specified pitch and depth, ensuring accurate alignment.
* Inspect forms to confirm they are properly constructed and ready for concrete pouring.
* Spread, level, and smooth concrete using a variety of tools such as rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats.
* Direct concrete pouring by signaling the truck driver and moving the chute to guide concrete onto the forms.
* Place and tie rebar, ensuring it is positioned correctly for structural integrity.
* Install embeds and anchor bolts with precision, using center lines to maintain proper spacing.
* Apply knowledge in the installation of non-shrink and epoxy grout to secure structural components.
* Adhere strictly to safety protocols, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Education:
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
* Experience in concrete work, form setting, and rebar placement within an industrial setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
* Capable of performing physically demanding skilled labor for up to 12 hours a day.
* Knowledgeable and competent in working in confined spaces, at elevated surfaces, and on scaffolding, including ladder climbing.
* Dependable with a strong sense of integrity and a commitment to safety.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently.
Work Location and Travel:
* Location is at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, Florida, 33801
* Work hours and days vary, with shifts scheduled from Monday through Sunday; some overnight work and frequent overtime may be required.
Work Environment:
* This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday - Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.

Physical Requirements:
Talk/Hear: Must be able to communicate with team members, receive instructions, coordinate tasks, and ensure safety on the job site.
Stand/Sit: Required to operate machinery, perform detailed tasks at different elevations, and monitor work progress on the job site.
Walk: Must be able to walk to move between different work areas, transport materials, and access various parts of the job site for performing construction tasks.
Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Required to handle tools, tie rebar, smooth concrete, and perform precise tasks such as aligning forms and installing bolts or embeds.
Climb: Occasionally needs to climb to access elevated work areas, scaffolding, or ladders for tasks such as setting forms, placing rebar, or working on overhead structures.
Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Must be able to position and secure rebar, install forms, and work on concrete surfaces in confined or low-clearance areas.
See: Required to accurately align forms, place rebar, inspect concrete work, and ensure all components are correctly installed according to specifications.
Carry, weight, Lift: Frequently required to handle construction materials, tools, and equipment necessary for setting forms, placing rebar, and performing concrete work.
Exposure to work: May include harsh weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive risks.
