Join our team at Ground Support Group/Active Solar Development, a leading player in the Solar and Renewable Energy industry. We specialize in community solar construction projects that drive sustainability and clean energy solutions. We are seeking an experienced Civil Operator to operate excavatorsand other heavy equipment on solar construction sites throughout NYS, NJ, PA, MD and DE. The role requires significant travel to various project locations, and you'll play a key role in the development of solar fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, specifically in solar or renewable energy projects, and will be comfortable working in outdoor environments. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment. Perform earthmoving and grading operations, including trenching, excavation, and site preparation for solar installations. Adhere to project timelines while maintaining quality and safety standards on site. Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Collaborate with the construction team and site supervisors to ensure the successful completion of project milestones. Travel to various project locations as required, often on short notice, to support multiple solar construction sites. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements during site operations. Assist in on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
