RCM Engineering Process & Industrial Services Division executes engineering and design of industrial plant facilities that manufacture industrial gases, chemicals and other continuous process products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of Civil / Structural design teams to execute diverse and challenging projects.
  • Work with other Civil / Structural Engineers and Designers, being a key contributor for technical aspects of the work including quality.
  • Be familiar with other plant design disciplines such as mechanical / piping, electrical and instrumentation.
  • Assist in the recruiting, training and development of other discipline technical staff. Participate in the Mentorship program in the group.

Technical Requirements:

  • Analyze and engineer steel process frame structures to withstand operational loadings, and loadings associated with lifting, handling, and transportation.
  • Develop and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Engineer modular and skidded systems.
  • Engineer heavy concrete foundations for rotating equipment such as large compressors, and pumps.
  • Evaluate findings of geotechnical studies/reports to ascertain foundation requirements and soil bearing capacities.
  • Engineer and evaluate deep foundations and piling systems.
  • Review fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Estimate required Civil /Structural engineering hours required for proposed future work.
  • Conduct site visits and structural field investigations within plants to gather information, assess site conditions, verify designs, and provide other on-site assistance during start-up or construction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of engineering experience with concrete and steel design for industrial plant facilities
  • Authorized to work in the United States and ability to obtain required security clearances for client site access
  • United States Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards such as AWS, AISC, IBC, and ACE.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis, preferably STAAD Pro.
  • Ability to prepare structural calculations using Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client locations or project sites
  • Ability to perform work on construction sites and in operating industrial facilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Education:

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
