The Commercial Lines (CL) Product Manager will have Profit and Loss (P/L) accountability for Auto and General Liability product line(s). This position will report to the Commercial Lines Product Management Leader and work in close partnership with other functional areas to drive product strategy across the organization. Responsibilities :
- Responsible for P/L accountability for a specific Commercial Lines product line(s) and/or geographic P/L accountability for all Commercial Lines product lines across assigned states.
- Achieves underwriting profit and growth objectives through product, pricing, underwriting, and other actions in close partnership with cross-functional team members.
- Works with the CL product management team and key stakeholders to develop a multi-year customer-centric product strategy for assigned product(s)/state(s).
- Communicates the product vision and value proposition to the distribution organization so that the product is properly positioned to customers and agents.
- Aggressively monitors countrywide growth/mix/loss results (and across product lines for assigned states) to ensure early identification, diagnosis and response to changing trends.
- Acquires market and competitive intelligence and develops knowledge of emerging trends to effectively compete in a rapidly changing environment and shares that knowledge with the organization.
- Analyzes and evaluates product performance metrics to form recommendations regarding market opportunities, risk appetite expansion, and innovative product enhancements.
- Effectively communicates product and process changes to underwriting/distribution teams and other stakeholders across the company.
- Reports P/L and growth performance results of assigned product(s) to key stakeholders.
- As applicable, develops project plans and manages tasks across functional groups to ensure high quality deliverables.
- Ensures product decisions and processes are in alignment with company policies and meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of P&C industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience in product management, actuarial, and/or analytical positions.
- Strong analytical skills to make timely, appropriate decisions and recommendations after reviewing all relevant information.
- Strong leadership acumen.
- Experience analyzing problems and developing strategies for resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team (at all levels of the organization) to achieve desired results.
- Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to plan and execute independently.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- Bachelor's degree OR commensurate experience.
- Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
