Starting Salary is $66,071.85 - $79,230.63 annually ($32.79 - $39.32/hour). Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week! Salary offered is dependent on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.

ResponsibilitiesAuto Injury is a customer-facing segment handling bodily injury and uninsured/underinsured claims along with property damage claims involving injuries. The Injury segment is on the cutting edge with the use of analytics to support claim employees in developing enhanced skillsets to support and protect our policyholders. Claims will be tiered within Injury based upon their claim characteristics, complexity, and severity. This could range from non-attorney represented bodily injuries, up to attorney represented and/or litigation claims.
- Reviewing and analyzing injury claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages
- Conducting thorough investigations by gathering relevant information, interviewing involved parties, and reviewing supporting documentation
- Evaluating medical records, police reports, and other related documents to assess the extent of injuries and liability
- Negotiating settlements with claimants, ensuring fair compensation is provided within policy limits
- Documenting all claim activities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports as required
- Collaborating with internal teams, including legal, medical, and risk assessment, to ensure proper claim handling
- Claims employees may occasionally deal with difficult and emotional investigations which include traumatic injury and loss of life
- Handling may include lawsuits and/or demands as well as working with Attorneys
Where You'll Work:
This is a hybrid position which allows you to spend some of your time working from home as well as some time working collaboratively in-office. During the job training period you may have a higher percentage of time spent in-office to support your learning experience.
Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours.
QualificationsCompetitive candidates demonstrate the following:
- Prior claim handling experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-task across technical platforms
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and able to work independently
- Identification of complexities that may require coordination with independent experts, vendors, or defense counsel
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Claim handling experience including:
- Bodily injury and property damage liability claims, as well as uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage claims
- Verification of coverage, legal liability, and extent of damage to persons and property by using knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and insurance regulations
- Litigation experience

- Employees must successfully complete all required training, including applicable licensing exam(s) and background checks required of various state(s).
- State Farm recently implemented new pre-employment assessments. Candidates that have previously taken an assessment may be asked to participate in additional testing
